Weekend Premier League Betting
Get all the latest football betting odds with bwin!
After another fun filled week of European action, its back to the bread and butter stuff in the Premier League writes Rob Treloar…
Portsmouth have officially recorded the worst ever start to a Premier League campaign, with seven straight defeats. But the loyal Pompey fans got behind their team at Fratton Park last weekend, in the way that only they could. Portsmouth are hopeful that funds from new owner Dr Sulaiman al-Fahim will be made available imminently and that could prove to be a turning point for the club. Surely things can’t get much worse for the South Coast club? This week they travel to Molineux to face Mick McCarthy’s Wolverhampton Wanderers. Amazingly, of the seven league games they have played so far, Wolves have only played two at home! Pompey will see this as a match which they could break their duck in and at 12/5 a bet on the draw with bwin is good value. Striker Frederic Piquionne is the most likely player to get on the scoresheet for Pompey, and you can get 229/100 on him to score at any time.

After their historic win against Chelsea last weekend, Wigan will be full of confidence going into their match at Hull. Confidence is something that Phil Brown’s side are certainly lacking though and the bronzed manager may find himself out of a job if the Tigers fail to get a result against Wigan. After shipping 10 goals in their last two games, time will surely be running out for Brown. One of Wigan’s heroes last weekend was Hugo Rodallega, who caused all sorts of problems for John terry and co. Rodallega is priced at 143/100 to get on the scoresheet at any time, while Wigan are 29/20 for a away win. A double would give you odds of 99/20.
The biggest game of the weekend sees Chelsea take on Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have had their first wobble after an impressive start under Carlo Ancelotti. Last weekend’s defeat at Wigan was followed by an unconvincing win in Cyprus in the Champions League. Meanwhile Liverpool were beaten comfortably by Fiorentina in midweek, so they too have been rocked. Chelsea will want to bounce back and show their title credentials with a win over their rivals. With bwin the Blues are priced at 21/20 for a home win.
Treloar’s tip: Why not back a London treble on Sunday, with wins for Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham. You’ll get combined odds of 93/25 with bwin.

There is no respite for the Championship, after a full programme of fixtures in midweek, it is back to business on Saturday, writes Rob Treloar…
Newcastle extended their lead at the top of the table with a well earned draw at home to QPR in midweek. The Super Hoops had gone ahead in the 7th minute through Ben Watson, but on loan striker Marlon Harewood bundled the ball home on 70 minutes, to pull the home side level. The Magpies are at home again this weekend and face Bristol City. City won their first game in five in midweek, beating Ian Holloway’s in-form Blackpool. But they face a tough test at St James’ Park as Newcastle aim to extend their lead further. Newcastle are 1/2 for the home win with bwin.

Preston North End have had a strange start to the season, having followed some impressive wins with disappointing defeats. This week was a perfect example, after a great away win at Leicester City, Preston were beaten at home by a struggling Reading side. Alan Irvine’s side will need to show more consistency if they harbour ambitions of promotion. This weekend will be a great test of the promotion credentials as they host West Bromwich Albion at Deepdale. After a flying start to the season the Baggies have had a wobble. Following their Carling Cup defeat to Arsenal West Brom have lost back to back league games against Crystal Palace and Barnsley. Di Matteo will be hoping his side can get back to winning ways but Preston will be confident of getting a result. The home side are priced at 29/20 to beat the Baggies.
QPR have finally kick-started their promotion push. Victory at Cardiff was swiftly followed by a 5-2 thrashing of Barnsley last weekend, while Rangers held Newcastle to a draw at St James’ Park in midweek. With a game in hand on the teams above them, QPR are well placed to make an assault on the promotion chasing pack. This weekend the Super Hoops are away at Swansea and after such a great result last time in Wales, the R’s will be confident of taking all three points. However, Paulo Sousa will be aiming to get one over on his former club at the Liberty Stadium so it will not be easy for the Londoners. QPR are priced at 33/20 for an away win with bwin.
Treloar’s Tip: Why not back a QPR, Preston and Newcastle treble, you’ll get combined odds of 437/50 with bwin.
bwin and Real Madrid announce the extension of their sponsorship agreement until 2013
To mark the contract renewal, bwin launches a special bet for the 10th Champions League title of Real Madrid.
bwin and Real Madrid Football Club announced today the renewal of their sponsorship agreement up to the 2012-2013 season. The agreement between the world’s leading online gaming provider and the best football club of the 20th century will become effective on the 1st July 2010. By extending the contract, bwin is underscoring its long-term commitment to top-level football, offering an extraordinary bet to celebrate the occasion.
In calling this special bet, bwin is banking on Real Madrid winning the Champions League title for the 10th time by 2013. The bet will be open for all bwin users over 48 hours, starting at 8.00 p.m., from today, 28th of September. 100 of the participating bwin users will then be drawn by lot. If they bet on “yes” and Real Madrid wins the Champion League title again by 2013, they will be paid out odds of 100:1 for a maximum stake of EUR 10.
Both sides are delighted about the continued cooperation and have emphasised
its significance for international top-level football.
Manfred Bodner, Co-CEO of bwin said: “We are proud of being able to provide long-term support to the most legendary football club in the world. bwin and Real Madrid are united not only by their long-standing sponsorship partnership. The tremendous passion for football and the commitment to sport in general, are just some of the points that form the strong foundations of an enduring and successful partnership between bwin and Real Madrid. We are convinced that Real will continue to write history by winning the 10th Champions League title in this period.”
“International football needs strong partners like bwin. I am looking forward to continuing and intensifying our successful partnership with bwin,” adds the new president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez.
Football is the main corner-stone in bwin’s three-pillar sponsorship strategy.
The company’s commitment in the MotoGP World Championship, where it has been a fixture for many years as title sponsor in several races, forms the company’s second pillar. The third pillar in bwin’s sponsorship portfolio is basketball.

The Championship continues to pick up pace and with 12 matches taking place over the weekend there are some great betting opportunities, writes Rob Treloar…
West Brom put in a five-star performance at The Riverside last weekend, beating Gareth Southgate’s Middlesbrough 5-0, to go a point clear of Newcastle at the top of the table. However, Roberto Di Matteo’s side then suffered their first defeat of the season at Arsenal in the Carling Cup. Arsene Wenger’s young charges were too good for the Baggies, who were hampered by Jerome Thomas’s sending off. Di Matteo will be hoping his side can get straight back to winning ways when they take on Crystal Palace at the Hawthorns. West Brom are priced at 1/2 for a home win with bwin.

Queens Park Rangers will be hoping they can build on their excellent away win at Cardiff last weekend. The Super Hoops put all the controversy surrounding owner Flavio Briatore to one side to beat the Bluebirds. Jim Magilton’s side were knocked out of the Carling Cup in midweek by Chelsea, but Rangers gave a good account of themselves and can take a lot of positives from the game. This weekend they host Barnsley at Loftus Road. The Tykes have had a disappointing start to the season taking just 5 points from their opening eight matches, but they will be buoyed by a fantastic result in midweek, when they beat Premier League Burnley in the Carling Cup. QPR will certainly be favourites to get a home win, at bwin they are priced at 7/10.
Roy Keane’s Ipswich Town are still languishing at the bottom of the table and could be in for a long hard season if they don’t turn things around soon. This weekend the Tractor Boys entertain Newcastle, who are chasing automatic promotion. Despite a good start the season the Magpies have had a bit of a wobble of late, losing to Blackpool last week and crashing out of the Carling Cup to Peterborough in midweek. In fairness, Chris Hughton did draft in a number of youngsters for the Cup game, and so he’ll be hoping the side can bounce back with a win at Portman Road. Newcastle are 23/20 to win away with bwin.
Treloar’s Tip: Why not back a QPR, West Brom and Newcastle treble, you’ll get combined odds of 112/25 with bwin.
Weekend Premier League Betting

There was plenty of controversy last weekend, as Michael Owen scored the winner in the 96th minute of the Manchester derby. Who will be the big winners this weekend, writes Rob Treloar…
Mark Hughes was not a happy bunny having seen his side concede in the 96th minute, when the fourth official indicated there would be four minutes of injury time added on. City had shown great character to come from behind three times and looked good value for a point, but they failed to clear their lines and Michael Owen was on hand to win the game for United. City bounced back with a Carling Cup win in midweek and will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premiership when they entertain West Ham at Eastlands on Sunday. Craig Bellamy will face his former club and the fiery Welsh striker will be hoping he can add to his tally. With bwin, Bellamy is 57/50 to score at any time, while Manchester City are priced at 2/5 for a home win. You’ll get combined odds of 2/1 if you do a double.
Bet on all the weekend fixtures with bwin.
Portsmouth will be hoping they can take confidence from their Carling Cup win in midweek when they face Everton at Fratton Park. Paul Hart’s side are still yet to put a point on the board but Saturday’s game will not be easy, with Everton on a high themselves after a convincing 4-0 win over Hull City in the Carling Cup. Former Portsmouth striker Yakubu is back from injury and was back among the goals at the KC Stadium. David Moyes will be hoping the Nigerian striker can add to his former team’s woes by firing the Toffees to an away win. Yakubu is 157/100 with bwin to score at any time at Fratton Park, while Everton are 1/1 for an away win. The two bets together will give you combined odds of 207/50.
Another player back from a long injury lay-off is Chelsea’s Joe Cole. The England midfielder played his first game in 18 months at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti even gave him the captain’s armband for the Carling Cup tie against West London rivals QPR. Cole got 90 minutes under his belt and set up the winning goal for Solomon Kalou, so he’ll be hoping he can keep his place for Chelsea’s trip to Wigan this weekend. Roberto Martinez’s side have struggled of late and may well find it difficult to contain the Blues, who have won every game so far this season. Unsurprisingly, Chelsea are 3/10 for an away win, but at 2/1 Joe Cole is good value to score at any time. Why not combine the two best and get odds of 29/10.

There were no shortage of talking points last weekend as the Premier League really started to heat up. And with two derby games on Sunday, there is plenty to look forward to, writes Rob Treloar…
Manchester City’s comprehensive win over Arsenal confirmed their credentials as serious challengers to the top four. City steamrollered the Gunners in a fantastic second half display. Of course most of the attention focussed on Emmanuel Adebayor, for his unsavoury retaliation to Robin Van Persie’s challenge and his passionate goal celebration in front of the Arsenal fans who had taunted him all afternoon. Adebayor may yet face charges for the latter incident but as it is a three match ban for the kick out at Van Persie will mean he misses the Manchester derby this weekend.
The ban comes as a huge blow for Mark Hughes’s side, for who Adebayor has played a starring role, scoring in every game so far this season. And with Robinho ruled out through injury and Carlos Tevez struggling to be fit to face his former club, Hughes could face a selection problem ahead of the big game. However, Carlos Tevez will be desperate to play and I wouldn’t bet against the fiery Argentinean playing through the pain barrier if need be. Tevez could be in for a hostile reception at Old Trafford, he was adored by the United fans who publicly urged Sir Alex Ferguson to sign him on a permanent basis, but Tevez’s defection across to the blue half of the city will certainly have angered United fans.
If he does win the race to be fit, Carlos Tevez is priced at 243/100 with bwin to score against his former club. City will go into the match full of confidence on the back of their terrific start to the season, but United have started to pick up momentum. The derby is often a tightly contested affair so there is value in 5/2 for the draw.

In London, Chelsea play host to local rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs got off to a flying start to the season but their winning run came shuddering to a halt last week when Manchester United outclassed them at the Lane. The fixtures computer has hardly been kind to Spurs, handing them a trip to Stamford Bridge immediately after they faced the champions but Spurs will have to improve on their performance last week if they are to take anything from the game against Chelsea. The Blues are in great form under Carlo Ancelotti, who couldn’t have asked for a better start to his career at the club. Unsurprisingly, Chelsea are favourites to beat Spurs and are priced at 2/5. Frank Lampard has always enjoyed beating the North London club and with bwin he is priced at 11/2 to open the scoring on Sunday. Why not combine the two bets and get odds of 81/10.
On Saturday Liverpool travel to West Ham and Arsenal entertain Wigan. Rafa Benitez’s side are 9/20 to win at Upton Park, while the Gunners are 1/4 to beat Wigan at home.
Treloar’s tip: Of the 46 matches played so far, unbelievably there have only been three draws. Expect that tally to go up this weekend. Back a draw treble with Hull-Birmingham, Bolton-Stoke and Wolves-Fulham all ending in a stalemate. You’ll get combined odds of 2927/100.
Soccer betting odds from bwin, for Wednesday’s Champions League fixtures.
The Champions League kicks-off this week with the opening round of fixtures throwing up a mouth-watering tie as Champions Barcelona face Inter Milan on Wednesday night, writes Rob Treloar…
Pep Guardiola’s all conquering Barcelona have a tough opening fixture as they travel to Milan to face Jose Mourinho’s Inter. It was almost inevitable that these two clubs would be drawn together, after their dealings in one of the biggest transfers of the summer. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto’o have swapped clubs and will both face their former team-mates for the first time. For Eto’o, who scored the opening goal for Barca in last season’s Champions League final, it is a chance to show the Catalan club why they made a mistake in letting him go.
Both Ibrahimovic and Eto’o are priced at 143/100 with bwin to score against their former clubs at any time during the match. Barca are slight favourites at 13/10, but the draw could be a good bet at 11/5.

Liverpool warmed up for their Champions League opener with a 4-0 win over Burnley at the weekend. And it could be another Anfield goal-fest as Liverpool entertain Hungarian champions Debreceni. Having qualified for the group stages for the first time in their history, Debreceni will be huge underdogs at Anfield, and if Liverpool show the kind of creativity that they did at the weekend, the Hungarians could find it very difficult to contain Torres, Gerrard and co.
With bwin, Liverpool are priced at 1/4 to win both the first half and the second half, and are priced at 1/2 to score three goals or more. Why not combine the two bets giving odds of 22/25.
After a heavy defeat at the City of Manchester stadium on Saturday, Arsenal will be hoping their brand of free flowing attacking football will be better suited to Champions League football, than it was to the physical battle they endured against Manchester City. Arsene Wenger’s side travel to Belgium to face Standard Liege. Of course, Arsenal are strong favourites to beat the Belgian champions, but Standard Liege will be no pushover. Arsenal are 2/5 for the win, and having managed to have his ban for diving overturned, Croatian striker Eduardo is priced at 143/100 to score at any time. Why not combine both bets to get odds of 12/5 with bwin.

Capello Earns Free bonus 1 Million
This is definitely a Hush for the sports experts who still think that football games are not a matter of business, marketing and selling channels; briefly, money is the game and Capello is the name that drove England football team to the World Cup 2010 South Africa.
Extra Free Bonus or a winning Bet on England?
Capello, who is currently in charge of making the British soccer squad look good in terms of football results and football betting at the bookmakers online sites, has been stating in front of several football TV channels, soccer newspapers and other sports media that Wembley Stadium was a problem for the English Premiership players, reunited into a single team.
First, let us mention the immense smile of Coach Fabio Capello who was heading towards the bank in order to pick his free bonus of 1 Million pounds, earned for driving the British football jerseys into the World Cup 2010. For the Premiership federation, Capello is a winning bet on football and has to be motivated, yet compensated for the quality soccer techniques that he brought into the English Premier League.
Sports news talked about football rumors pointing at Capello’s bet on English soccer team which, in case the British squad claims the World Cup title, will be re-compensated with another free bonus of 2 million £.
Capello’s soccer players have also been specialized with a quarter million £ upon their qualification to the world cup and that was a well earned bonus in the perspective of English sports commentators and football reporters. Money talks continue, with the football betting on England in return of large bonuses for the football players that, in case they bring the trophy back home, will be getting large football bonuses in comparison with Italy’s payouts that reached 13 million £ after becoming the world cup winner in 2006.
David Beckham into Football odds
Victoria Adams’ husband and super star David Beckham will be granted a World Cup seat among his British football team-mates; Fabio Capello described Becks as “an important player, good in the group and good at every moment in training”, while pushing out Ledley King off the soccer prognostics. Capello backed his decision up by pointing King’s knee injury as “a problem”.
For Capello, betting on World Cup is no place to go risky; Owen Hargreaves (Manchester United) and Joe Cole (Chelsea football club) will not be selected into the national football team unless they recover from the knee operations which could cause England to lose potential strength in Midfield of the soccer terrain in case of a repeated injury during the World cup. Michael Carrick (Manchester United) and team-mate Michael Owen (Manchester United) will both fight back to book a seat; the 1st football player is accused of slow mobility while Owen is past it. Capello is clearly betting on football potential that is reassuring for the English lineup, away from any misunderstandings and lack of pace upon the football field.
John Terry, England football captain was violently attacked by sports news and football magazines for hitting Ivan Klasnic’s in the Kidneys on purpose, realizing that these kidneys were transplanted a couple of years ago. For a football captain, Capello is definitely going through his own football bookmakers again to make sure that John Terry is no source of trouble and that he is forming an advantage for the England football jerseys in South Africa.
SWOT Analysis: Marketing English football
The SWOT analysis is a marketing procedure and strategy that aims to define the Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of a product; in this case, betting on England or more specifically, bet on World cup winner required us to go through why England soccer squad might be able to win, or to lose pace before reaching the World Cup final game 2010.
English Premiership officials are counting on Capello, coming from an Italian football school that had claimed the World Cup in 3 different occasions; therefore, the Premier League managers are placing their football betting upon the Italian coach to transfer the know-how from Italy to England using Premiership players like Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and David Beckham. The balance between youth and experience in World Cup 2010 will be a key effect to advance into the World Cup final stages.
Football bookmakers and football betting fans believing in high football odds upon England, are concerned with the aspect of over-dependency upon focal players onto the football field; both strikers Emile Heskey and Carlton Cole will be pushed and pressured to score, the goalkeeping mystery, a minimum of one defensive error during every game and the dishonorable conduct of the English football players under pressure. All these matters form a part of Capello’s role in resolving issues and his ability to be a firm manager in South Africa.
On his turn, Fabio Capello took a series of decisions that were beyond the football expectations; the Italian world champion allowed players’ wives and football players’ girlfriends to get in touch with the football squad but only during the day after each of the World cup games, and that would form at least 2 links a week, during the World cup finals.
Rio Ferdinand seems to deny Capello’s decision of allowing girls, describing the trip as a “circus”; the “Master and Commander”, Capello, is a man with “a personal point to prove” and has never won the FIFA football World Cup as a player in a team so Premier League players have to watch out for that aspect.
Football Betting Tips
Fabio Capello is trying to form a soccer team, similar to the football squad that claimed the football world cup 2006; Italy jerseys will now be replaced by England shirts under Capello’s influence, en route to claim the World Cup title and become the football world champions in South Africa. Betting on this revolutionary mission of the English Premier League is a bit risky, but new! The premiership expansion is reassuring and the Fabio Capello effect upon the English Premiership tickets is starting to show. For the Italian, a bet on England is possible for he believes in his potential and his players’football skills (Beckham goals, Gerrard goals, Owen goals, Lampard goals). Still, he has to prove a point to the sports news, online sports betting sites and to football bookmakers through the world cup results in 2010.
Bet on Women Football Euro 2009
Bet on England V Germany in the Euro 2009 finals of women’s European football Championship, hosted tonight at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium.
Women football prognostics – Football betting odds
England football squad just made it to the finals for the first time in 25 years; the bet on English football finally paid out fine when the best ladies of the Premiership teams scored a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands in the semi-final; still, football odds point at the German football team as the favorite to win the Euro 2009 in comparison with the Brits that are placed as underdogs in the bookmakers pages and football bookies sites.
