Italy – Serie A – Review and Results 24-10-2010

The leading team in the standings Lazio continued winning successfully. They won over Cagliari 2-1 and in a race for the first place in the standings Inter had given up after the draw in the match against Sampdoria (1-1). The compete disappointment were Juventus and Roma becausae they lost all three points in duels with “outsiders”.
The Romans had no major problems beating Cagliari 2-1 in front of their fans and they showed that they’re far from the last season’s club when they struggled to survive in Serie A. This would be this season to fight for one of the places that lead to the Euro Cups.

That triumph enabled Lazio to escape Inter by four points because the current champions in the last match of the week’s program with Sampdoria had let them have a valuable point – 1-1. Guberti scored a goal and the guest team led in the 62th minute. After that, Inter stepped up and started creating oportunities on the field. Eto scored a goal in the 80th minute and the final result was 1-1.
Juventus played away against Bologna 0-0, which is in the 16th place. Juventus had the best chance in the 35th minute, but Iaquinta failed to score a penalty.
Roma players also failed to achieve the victory against the poorly ranked team. They played only 0-0 against Parma in the first match of the program and seriously jeopardized the position of Claudio Ranieri as Roma’s coach.

Napoli vs Milan are meeting Monday night in a derby of the round.
