Chelsea failed to sign Sergio Agüero and not much was said on why. We have also heard rumors on Joe Cole leaving to Tottenham or Manchester City.

Benitez was himself linked to be transferred to Juventus… speculations speculations!
Maxi Rodriguez joined Liverpool on a free transfer from Atletico Madrid.

Manchester United
The under 21 year old Fulham defender, Chris Smalling, signed for Manchester United.
There is also the fight over Sergio Canales from Racing Santander who is desired by Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Manchester City
Santos took Robinho on a loan. It seems that the new Italian coach Mancini did not include the Brazilian winger into his plans
Aston Villa
Nicky Shorey returned to Aston Villa from a loan
Birmingham City
Craig Gardner from Aston Villa and Michel from Sporting Gijon were signed to play for Birmingham City.
Blackburn Rovers
Blackburn bought the Turkish midfielder Yildriay Basturk from Stuttgart
This was definitely the most quiet month of transfers in Premier League.We have to wait and see what happens for each of the clubs at the end of the season who will win what!
