Live Football Transfer News – Transfer wrap: Moratti denies Eto’o transfer rumors!

President of Inter Massimo Moratti has denied any rumor on Samuel Eto’o leaving the club.

Eto’o has been linked with a surprise move to a Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala who has already brought in names as Roberto Carlos and Yuri Zhirkov. The player’s agent has been quoted as saying that Eto’o move to Russia is on the verge of completion with a large fee of 35 million euros and the massive 17 million euros annual wage for Eto’o.

But Moratti denies rumors and dismisses all speculations insisting one of the Inter’s main assets is not heading for the exit yet: “At the moment Eto’o is not going anywhere and we are not negotiating for someone else to come in. We are only answering other teams that are interested in our players. I don’t want to offend those who have made interesting offers for our players, offers that are right for the players’ value. Then it will be up to us, and the player to decide if we want to accept an offer or not. I have to say that luckily almost all of our players are sought-after.”

Eto’o was Inter’s top scorer last season with 37 goals in all competitions.
