Manchester United’s midfielder Antonio Valencia has signed a new four-year deal on Monday. Equadorean came to Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad in 2009 from Wigan. Back then, his contract was 16 million pounds worth with a 50 000 pounds weekly wage. 25-year-old played 69 times for the Red Devils and scored 10 times. Last season he has won his first title with United. Valencia said he is convinced he will continue to develop his football skills at Manchester United.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said that Valencia represents important player in his squad with his speed and football skills, but also with his character. During the two years spent at Old Trafford, skillful midfielder didn’t completely show his skills because of a long term injury from which he had a long recovery period.

Manchester United has been linked with signing Wesley Sneijder from Serie A runners-up and Coppa Italia winners Inter. If that happens, Sir Alex Ferguson will have significant and fast midfield line in his team.
