New season in Spain starts with Spanish Super Cup two leg duel between eternal rivals, last year Coppa del Rey winners Real Madrid and La Liga and Champions League winners Barcelona. Two teams played five interesting matches last season and it appears we are about to see another interesting clash between two giants of Spanish football.

Sep Guardiola believes that Real Madrid will have the edge in this duel because of the advanced state of preparations. According to Barca’s coach he had entire squad together only for two days (many players were on international duty on Coppa America), while Real Madrid had flawless preseason. Based on the results from the last season, Guardiola believes that result will be decided in the first leg at Santiago Bernabeu: “The tie will be practically decided on Sunday. Whenever we’ve come back with a good result from the Bernabeu it’s because we’ve been ambitious. It’s very difficult to figure out how they’re going to play,” he added, referring to Jose Mourinho’s Real side. “They sat back in the first half of the first leg of the semi-finals, and in the second half they pressured us high up the pitch. They have a lot in their locker. We have to be cautious. Beating them is really tough.”

This match will not be too important for these rivals in such early in a season, but rivalry is promising interesting football betting odds.
