Live Serie A transfers – Luis Enrique becomes head coach of Roma!

Former Spanish international player that played for both Barcelona and Real Madrid player, Luis Enrique has agreed on terms to become the Roma coach.

Two-year deal is on the paper along with the possibility to be extended for the third year. Enrique is expected to earn 1.6 million Euros per season. The 41-year-old Spaniard took over from Vincenzo Montella who became the new Catania coach. Enrique is looking forward new challenges, especially being in Italy top flight: “I am happy with the choice and enthusiastic about taking on the Roma project. It’s a winning project and I am an ambitious coach.”

Luis Enrique succeeded Pep Guardiola as a coach of Barcelona’s B team in 2008. He led his team to the playoffs in Segunda last season, but as being Barca’s B team, they were unable to be promoted in La Liga. New coach intentions are to bring an attractive attacking style in his new club: “My style of football is an attacking one and a spectacular one. I want to bring so many people to the stadium. I want the fans to enjoy the team’s play. No one knows me in Italy but in one year’s time, I will be able to clear any doubts. Facts will speak for themselves.”
