Live Wolverhampton vs Manchester United betting odds, tips, result and review – 05-02-2011
ByEverybody knew that defeat would come, but no one expected it to be against last placed team of the Premier league.
Manchester United lost a match after for the first time this season after 15 wins and 9 draws in Premier League. On their travel to Wolverhampton, Sir Alex Ferguson’s team missed the opportunity to increase their advantage over Arsenal to seven points. Once again it proved that motive for survival in the league is much stronger than desire for win by the top teams. Wolves showed fantastic character and guts and earned valuable three points in their battle to avoid relegation. Their manager Mick McCarty will be 52-years old and this was the best birthday present he could wish on his 100 match in Premier League.
At the beginning Nani brought the lead to Manchester United after only three minutes. Everything looked like Wolves will continue their run of losing matches at home to Manchester United. Last time Wolves have beaten United was in 2004, but this team they were eager to stop losing run of three matches in a row which have brought them to the bottom of Premier League.
Wolves made some serious attacks and in 10 minute of the match Cameroonian Elokobi made a header above Nemanja Vidic to equalize the score. Full twist was made five minutes before half time. Nenad Milijas took the free kick and Kevin Doyle put the ball in the goal. In the remaining part of the match Manchester did all they could. Alex Ferguson brought Hernandez in the game, but it did not do much in avoiding the first loss of the season. This was the third time this season Wolves have beaten the team from “the big four”. They also won Chelsea at home and Liverpool on the travel. With these three points Wolves are still at the bottom of the Premier League table but with the same number of points as West Ham United and Birmingham City which are playing their duel on Sunday.
