Live English Premier League football results and reviews – Round 25 – 01-02-2011
Posted by: | CommentsOn Tuesday night four games of Premier League 25th round were played. Plenty of goals were scored and exciting football was displayed by favorites.
Arsenal welcomed Everton at the Emirates stadium. Guest team scored first. Saha was the executer in 24th minute. Most of the match seemed like Everton will resist Gunners attacks, but in only six minutes, Arsenal made a comeback. First Arshavin equalized in 70th minute and Koscielny sealed Arsenal victory in 76th minute.
Very interesting match was played at the Stadium of light in Sunderland. First half hour of the match was filled with goals. Bardsley started the goal series in 4th minute. Early goal announced the great shooting night. Lampard scored from penalty in 15th minute. Only eight minutes later Kalou managed to bring his team to lead for the first time on the match. Everyone thought from that moment that Chelsea is on the way to score some more goals, but not the Sunderland players. Richardson equalized in 27th minute and already it was 2:2 and that was the half time score. In the second half Chelsea was attacking even more and it paid off. First in 60th minute, captain John Terry scored wonderful goal for new 3:2 lead and in 90th minute Nicolas Anelka sealed Chelsea 4:2 win. Chelsea is currently on fourth place of Premier League with only one point behind Manchester City. With new squad additions like Fernando Torres who was signed on the last transfer day, Chelsea could easily get back in the title chase.
Mancheser United are playing like true champions. After winning Birmingham City last week, this time other club from Birmingham was defeated at the Old Trafford. Wayne Rooney scored in the first and last minute of the first-half. In the second half, newcomer Darren Bent scored for 2:1 and proved he was a good buy for Aston Villa. In 64th minute Manchester United’s captain, Nemanja Vidic sealed their victory and confirmed their table top spot. In last match on Tuesday West Bromwich and Wigan equalized 2:2. In Serie A Round 22 is on the schedule this weekend. One of the interesting duels will be played at the Olimpico between Lazio and Fiorentina. First match is to be played between Arsenal and Wigan. According to Arsene Wenger, Robin Van Persie is set to play at the Emirates stadium. Dutch player recovered just recently from an injury he got in match with Blackburn in August. He is now fit and ready to play and as Arsenal manager hopes, he will find his form against Wigan. Odds for Arsenal to win are pretty good. Live Serie A Betting Odds, Tips and Reviews – 14th Round
Posted by: | CommentsThis weekend brings a few derby matches. Rejuvenated Juventus must win Fiorentina if they want to make their championship ambitions come true. Milan must prove they are in good shape if they want to stay on top.
After poor start, Juventus is back on the right track. Del Neri put the pieces together and the Old Lady did not lose match since the late September, and with Milos Krasic fantastic performances since his arrival, they got confidence and hardness they lacked. Against Fiorentina Buffon, Legrottaglie, Rinaudo, Grygera, De Ceglie, Martinez and Amauri will be out with injuries. Iaquinta and Quagliarella will do the striking force. Fiorentina doesn’t lack the motive against Juventus, but their poor record on the road (six matches without win) doesn’t give them too many odds for a win. Frey, Montolivo, Jovetic, Zanetti, Mutu and Natali will miss the trip to Turin. Gilardino will be the lone striker in Sinisa Mihailovic’s team.
Sampdoria is increasing in form. After couple matches without a win and without scoring goal, they showed some juice last weekend as they have beaten Lecce 3:2 thanks to Pazzini’s hat-trick. Anyway, that doesn’t make them favorites. Milan is the polling team of Serie A. With Ibra in red-hot form and consolidating defense all odds for a win are in their favor. Tip for a win on Milan.
Fiorentina is coming to San Siro on the wings of two wins in last three matches. Although they don’t have away victory, they are 11 points behind their Saturday rivals and if they win they could go up in zone from seventh to tenth place. Since Adrian Mutu is out with a thigh injury, former AC Milan striker Alberto Gilardino will lead Viola’s attack.

Wenger’s team should fire up some new steam to put themselves out of this mini-crisis. Tip on Arsenal.
On the bottom of the table is a true rumble. Fulham vs Birmingham and West Ham United vs Wigan. Birmingham who took a scalp of Chelsea last weekend will try to end their poor run on travels, having failed to triumph in their last 12 away games. Fulham desperately needs a win after slipping down on the table. West Ham boss Avram Grant is still shaking on the Hammers bench as they are the worst team in the Premiership since September. He hopes his team can use the fact that Wigan won only one of last 14 away matches. However, if Hammers repeat performance from last weekend against Liverpool, they could easily lose. Possible draw predicted in this match.
Interesting match could be on St. James Park on Sunday. Chelsea who hasn’t lost three consecutive league matches since 1999 will surely give their best to avoid losing another one. This one has odds for a lot of goals.
On Sunday Tottenham who made club history during the week as they booked place in elimination round of the Champions League, will face Liverpool who enjoyed a week of training. After last week win they got back on the track and surely will try to win and level up on the table with their rivals. Hotspurs will be looking to banish their habit of starting games slowly, in particularly after game in Europe. Potential match with lot of goals.
