Live Football Transfer News and Rumors – Arsenal last minute transfer deals!
Posted by: | CommentsArsenal made number of signings, on a busy last day of transfer window.
Arsene Wenger closed several last minute deals as Arsenal were left out of quality midfielders following the departures with Cesc Fabregas who joined Barcelona and Samir Nasri who joined Manchester City. Injured and suspended players are the second big problem that the Gunners manager is facing with, especially in defensive line. Mikel Arteta expressed desire to leave Goodison Park and was sold to the Gunners for a reported 10 million pounds fee. Beside Arteta, Wenger sealed deals with three more players. The 31-year-old Israeli international Yossi Benayoun signed a season long loan deal with Arsenal. Defender Andre Santos joined the London club from Turkish champions Fenerbahce for an undisclosed fee. Along with Santos, German defender Mertesacker should fill in the voids in Arsenal’s defense. Expirienced German should add much needed experience to the Gunners defense.
Nicklas Bendtner agreed to join Sunderland on loan until the end of the season.

On a last day of transfer window many teams agreed good deals across the Europe and improved their odds in competitions they are participating.
Yakubu should seal his move to Blackburn Rovers from Everton, while his teammate Jermaine Beckford has completed a three million pounds switch to Championship club Leicester City.
Liverpool’s Joe Cole is expected to join French champions Lille on a season long loan deal. The 29-year-old player has made only 20 appearances for the Reds since he joined the club from Chelsea in July 2010. Cole found himself in a hard position after Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson arrived to Anfield. He has opted for a loan move to Lille and grabbed the opportunity to play Champions League. French striker David Ngog and Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen left Liverpool and agreed to join Bolton and French Ligue 1 newcomers Evian. Biggest surprise of the last day of this transfer window was sudden decision of Raul Meireles to leave Liverpool and join rivals Chelsea. Meireles handed a transfer request and the deal was swiftly agreed for a reported fee around 12 million pounds. Craig Bellamy had not been in constant form and in plans of Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, so he will join Kenny Dalglish’s team for which he starred in 2006/07 season.
Rest of the transfers reports read that Owen Hargreaves will join United’s city rival Manchester City. It is expected he will sign a one year contract. Alan Hutton and Jermaine Jenas left the Tottenham and moved to Aston Villa. Hutton signed four year deal, while Jenas joined Villa on loan. Queens Park Rangers signed Shaun Wright-Phillips from Manchester City.

Live Football Transfer News and Rumors – Villas-Boas is Confident in Mata’s quality!
Posted by: | CommentsJuan Mata have finalized his move from Valencia to Chelsea for a reported fee of 23.5 million pounds for a five-year deal.
After transfer on Wednesday, Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas said that Spaniard is quality addition to his squad and his arrival should add a real quality to the attacking line of his team: “We were looking for a player that would give us some creativity in the final third, not that we don’t have it but we always want to add to it when you find talent of this nature. We thought that the price was reasonable for Mata’s qualities and what he’s demonstrated in the Spanish league and the Champions League and we decided to bring him in. It’s one big addition that everybody was looking forward to especially you guys (the media) because speculation was coming from all fronts and there was criticism for the lack of market activity.”
Villas-Boas have also confirmed that Chelsea is bidding for midfielder Alvaro Pereira fromhis former club Porto, but was pessimistic about chances of getting the Uruguayan: “I can confirm we have made a bid for him but we are very, very far apart in terms of numbers and it’s very, very difficult that it would happen. I’m not very confident.”.

Live Football Transfer News and Rumors – Mata joins Chelsea!
Posted by: | CommentsSpanish international Juan Mata has completed his move from La Liga side Valencia to one of the Premier League top teams Chelsea. He signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
Mata who became the fourth Blues signing following the Thibaut Coutois, Oriol Romeu and Romelu Lukaku, is in contention for a starting place in Chelsea’s Premier League duel against newcomers Norwich City on Saturday. Winger’s transfer fee was an estimated 23.5 million pounds. Mata spoke on his impressions: “Right from the first moment there have been good feelings all around me,” Mata told the official club website. Training has been great and the players are a great group to train with. Valencia was a big club anyway but I have left to join a bigger club and it is all about the opportunity to win trophies and I have that here.”
Mata pointed out that after speaking with Andre Villas-Boas and his national teammate Fernando Torres made him up his mind and go through to agree terms with Chelsea: “He (Andre Villas-Boas) said he wanted Chelsea this season to play more attacking football, and that I would be a big part of that. Villas-Boas is someone who won almost everything last year and we are both here with the idea of winning lots this season. The plan is that I can play on either flank or even in the middle playing in between the lines of midfield and attack. I like to keep the ball and use it well, I am an attacking player and above all I like to set up goals and score them also. I want to adapt as quickly as possible to my new surroundings, my colleagues and this league, and I would love to win a trophy in my first season – if it can be the Premier League then great. Fernando (Torres) got me excited about the thought of coming here. He said it would be good for me here and that me and him together could be good. I also talked to my family and friends about it as well.”

Live Football Transfer News and Rumors – Alex to Juventus?
Posted by: | CommentsChelsea’s defender Alex has indicated he would like to realize his dream to play in Italy and a chance to sign for Juventus would make him able to do that.
Following the arrival of David Luiz in the winter transfer window, the Brazil international has been strongly linked with a move away from Chelsea. Alex remains unlikely to have much more first-team opportunities under new coach Andre Villas-Boas, and the 29-year-old is revising his options before the close of the transfer window. Juventus have been credited with an interest in the defender, and although Alex has suggested he would welcome the chance to play in Italy, he admitted the Serie A giant will have to open their wallet to pen him: “I am aware of Juventus’ interest, but I think they want to sign me on loan and this would not be a real alternative for me or Chelsea. My agent has been contacted by Juventus, I am 29 years old and it would be a great opportunity. I would love to play in Italy and I hope I can realise this dream before I retire. When I talked to my agent, I told him that Juve would be a real opportunity for me. Now, though, it all depends on Juve, who must come to an agreement with Chelsea. It is unlikely the club will accept a loan move.”.

Live Premier League betting odds tips results and previews – Round 2 – 2011
Posted by: | CommentsThis weekend Premier League betting odds are fantastic. Looking at the fixtures we may expect fantastic duels in several matches including derby matches between Arsenal and Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs and a local derby between Sunderland and Newcastle United.
Arsenal said fairwell to their captain Cesc Fabregas after he has signed deal with European Champions Barcelona and they are hoping to start writing new pages of club history this season. In order to make a result that is worth to remember they must be victorious against squad improved Liverpool. Both teams played equalizers in the opening matches and both managers know they must play and win big games like this one. Arsenal did not have too much signings unlike Liverpool which seems to be building the team worth of title. Emirates is the place where Arsenal is not unbeatable. Bet on Liverpool and expect many goals.
In local derby Newcastle United travel to play Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. Alan Pardew sold many of his players that seemed to be playing the crucial roles in starting lineup. Sunderland had a poor run last season after good first part of the season mostly because of many injuries and in recent years Steve Bruce’s team played well in the opening matches of the season so it is expected they will go for a win. Sunderland odds are really good here. Bet on Sunderland
On Sunday Bolton will welcome Manchester City, while Fulham travel to play Wolverhampton. Both matches will be interesting because of the odds for goals. Expect many goals because both teams have scored four goals in their openers and bet on Manchester City, while in other Sunday match expect possible draw. On Monday Manchester United will host Tottenham that seems like they still do not have a game plan for this season. Bet on Manchester United.

Tottenham Hotspurs manager Harry Redknapp has suggested that if Tottenham sell Luka Modric it would be in club’s best interest.
The Croatian midfielder has been linked with a move to Chelsea throughout the summer transfer window, but Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy stated that player is not for sale.
Redknapp’s only first team signing this summer has been goalkeeper brad Fridel on a free transfer. He said that if club sells Modric, he could reinvest in his squad, but he also pointed out that his chairman will not do that in a deadline day deal: “We’ve got two options with Luka. Either we keep a fantastic player or we sell him, get the money and bring in four players and have a better team. I want him to stay but if he’s going I want the opportunity to get other players in. There’s no chance the chairman [Daniel Levy] will sell him on the last day of the transfer window. He did that with [Dimitar] Berbatov a few years ago and ended up with no strikers. He won’t do that again. It’s a difficult situation for Modric. We all love our club and everything, but what would you do if someone offered to treble your wages? He’s had his head turned by the chance to play in a team that could win the Champions League this season and I think people can probably understand that. I’m sure there’s still stuff going on with Chelsea and we have to be careful not to say ‘he ain’t going anywhere’ and then he leaves. But the chairman has taken the stance that he doesn’t want to lose him and I can’t see that changing.”
Tottenham which expects Emmanuel Adebayor to join from Manchester City on loan, will travel to play Manchester United in Premier League on Monday night.
