Live Coppa Italia Results – 4th Round
Posted by: | CommentsBefore Serie A matches next weekend, two 4th Round Coppa Italia matches were played on Wednesday and Thursday night.
At Stadio Sant’Elia in Cagliari, Bologna easily advanced in the last sixteen after poor play by the home team. After a scoreless half hour Bologna gained lead in 32nd minute thanks to goal by Riccardo Meggiorini. In the late second half Ramirez doubled the lead of the Rossoblu. Visiting team was sure in the next round Coppa Italia after 90th minute Henry Gimenez hit the net. In the next round Bologna will clash Napoli.
With a comfortable 5:1 victory Catania cruised to the next round over powerless Brescia on Thursday evening. Martinho opened up a serie of goals in a match and Brescia’s Feczesin leveled the matters just a five minutes after. In the second half Catania crushed Brescia thanks to good display of Maxi Lopez who scored twice and Pesce and Antenucci also scored once. The Sicilians will face Juventus in next round.
Udinese made last minute win after extra time against Lecce while Genova was losing to Vicenza until the 86th minute when Toni scored from penalty for equalizer and extra time where first Toni hit the net once again and five minutes later Destro confirmed Genoa in the last sixteen of Coppa Italia.

Champions League – Group Stage 24–11–2010
Posted by: | CommentsOn Wednesday, fixtures in Groups A, B, C, and D are on the run. Inter, Tottenham and Lion are looking into providing the place in second phase if they make a good results.
Tottenhem is playing at White Heart Lane against Werder. They are looking for win to seal the place in the next round. Hotspurs have won Inter in last match at home 2:1 and on the wings of the last weekend’s win against Arsenal they are up and ready for Wednesday match. In Group A Tottenham and Inter are sharing the first place with seven points but Hotspurs are having better goal difference. Werder lost to Twente at home in last round and they are last placed behind Twente who is taking the third place in Group A with five points.
In other Group A match Inter is waiting at home to play against Twente. If Milan club wins they would be sure in the next round. The Dutch team will surely go for a win and try to take a second place in group.
Suspense rules in group B where derby is due to be played on Schalke home side in Gelsenkirchen against group leaders Lion. If home team wins this one, they could bring themselves on the top. Schalke is encouraged by Real Madrid’s ex-captain Raul Gonzales who scored hat-trick in Bundesliga last weekend and is also one of the best scorers of Champions league of all times, right behind Felippo Inzaghi who is out for a season due to a knee injury. Other match will be played in Tel Aviv between last placed Hapoel and third placed Benfica, the team which is looking for a chance to go through to the next phase.
In Group C three teams are having chance to go through. Manchester United is first placed with ten points and they are playing away game against Glasgow Rangers. Alex Ferguson’s team has a chance to secure the elimination matches if they win. Rangers must win if they want to keep playing in the next phase of the competition. Glasgow team is currently third placed in Group C, right behind Valencia. Spanish team should win without trouble since they are playing at home against Bursa, the only team that did not score any goals in the competition this season.
In group D Barcelona is looking for a win in a match against Panathinaikos to secure the first place. Second placed FC Kobehavn is playing against Rubin Kazan which is third placed team in this group.

Primera Division Odds and Reviews – 12th Round
Posted by: | CommentsIn the light of Real Madrid’s coach Jose Mourinho’s two match ban and third and fourth place teams derby in Spain is expected a hot football weekend.
After Real Madrid Copa del Rey 5-1 win over Murcia and a bad choice of words in a debate with the main refree, contraversal Jose Mourinho faces two match suspension and therefore he will not be leading Madrid’s club on Saturday home game against Athletic Bilbao.
Mourinho has led Real to nine victories in a first eleven league matches which makes him the best debut coach in Primera. Also the team from the Spanish capital is the best scoring team in league with 28 goals and conceading just five, boosted up by the Christiano Ronaldo who is the leading league scorer.
As for Basque team, they have all odds against them. They suffered eleven defeats in last twelve league and cup visits to Santiago Bernabeu. They have won only 13 times in 79 visits to Real Madrid’s home down the years, losing 51. They have also conceded more than three goals per game in those matches. This team picked up only one point from last four away from home matches this season.
Even without coach, Madrid team as the leader of the Primera is a definite favorite in this match. Bilbao has a few good players, and can surprise, but Real is boosted by good games lately and if take serious should earn new three points.
Derby clash between Villarreal and Valencia is about to decide will the home team stand for the third place in Primera. Both teams are in very good shape. At El Madrigal the Yellow submarine did not lose the game. They also has Carlos Marchena in their team. He signed for Villarreal this season after nine succesfull years in Valencia and according to him it will be very special game.
While everything works out for Villareal, Valencia faces with David Albelda suspension, while goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez is definitely out, along with defender Jeremy Mathieu. Juan Mata is doubtful, but Jordi Alba and Mehmet Topal both return after recovering from injury. Before last weekend 2-0 win over Getafe, Valencia received only one point from four games. They are coming to recreate the positive sensation they were showing at the beginning of the season and with respect to Villarreal they are set to win.
These two teams are to meet in the last sixteen of Copa del Rey in two leg clash in late December and early January.

Serie A Odds and Reviews – 13th Round
Posted by: | CommentsThis weekend there should be some interesting action in Serie A matches in Milan where and also on derby game between sixth placed Roma and eigth placed Udinese.
After tough 1-0 win against the city rivals Inter last week, Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri is hoping his club can maintain winning momentum in homeside match against Fiorentina.
Last week win against Inter marked the Rossoneri third consecutive win and put them on top of the Serie A table with one point ahead of Lazio. Ronaldinho should be ready for this game after missing the last weekend’s derby and alongside Clarence Seedorf is set to start in support of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Fiorentina is coming to San Siro on the wings of two wins in last three matches. Although they don’t have away victory, they are 11 points behind their Saturday rivals and if they win they could go up in zone from seventh to tenth place. Since Adrian Mutu is out with a thigh injury, former AC Milan striker Alberto Gilardino will lead Viola’s attack.
Both Roma and Udinese are in pretty good form lately. Sixth placed Roma did not lose in last 5 matches and as they are unbeaten at Olimpico and also won the last four in Eternal city, they are favorites in this duel.
Udinese had a great recovery from their slow start and now they are taking the eight place in Serie A. They have quick and great technician in forward Antonio Di Natale who made hat-trick against Lecce at Friuli last weekend. According to Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin, his team showed great balance on the both sides of the pitch last weekend and expects his team to show the same focus against Roma.
Roma will play without injured Daniele De Rossi, Simone Perrotta and Jorn Arne Riise. In Roma’s attack Mirko Vucinic and Marco Borriello could make a difference.

I am not sure if Xabi Alonso’s departure from Liverpool has made the team suffer, or maybe it was a curse from last year’s champion’s league revenge from the Real Madrid part, where they lost both at home at away.
Liverpool are suffering, and according to Chelsea’s captain’s, John Terry, Liverpool is out of the title race in premier league. Online news in UK comes and goes as we speak with many negative and positive points on the team, so it is always good to follow up on online football new, especially in UK. Many of the Liverpool punters are unhappy with the results that they are getting from playing online since their odds are that Liverpool is to win.

Champions League – Group B- Tuesday 3 November 2009
Posted by: | CommentsManchester United are back playing as the champions are aiming at a 4th straight win against CSKA Moscow tomorrow night.
United leads the group with nine points from three matches, with Wolfsburg in second with four and CSKA a further point behind. Last-place Besiktas hosts Wolfsburg in Tuesday’s other group match. The England international striker, Wayne Rooney may not be playing because his wife is set to give birth to their first child. CSKA Moscow will be heading to Manchester with a new coach, Leonid Slutsky who replaced Juande Ramos last week after the Ex Real Madrid Spanish coach was sacked less than two months into the job.
Sekou Jabateh Oliseh will be out of Tuesday’s match against Manchester.
With a great enthusiasm, the young CSKA will be playing in the Old Trafford and will challenge Manchester United in their home. Although it is likely that Manchester brings in home the 3 points still the CSKA goal keeper is on Sir Alex’s shopping list for winter. I think it will be an interesting game to watch.
As for the German champions Vfl Wolfsburg, they will be hosted by Besiktas who are at the bottom of the group B. After the draw between the two teams, the odds are that either they draw or I reckon a tight win for Wolfsburg.

After the disappointing loss last weekend against Liverpool 2-0, Manchester United returns home. On the side of coin Blackburn Rovers are eager to win as well since they have lost against Chelsea last week 5-0. Although the odds of winning look very low for the Blackburn Rovers, but I assume they might be able to score at least and not leave Manchester’s net a clean sheet. I am guessing that Manchester need to boost their enthusiasm and motivation so they will run and try to score as many goals as they could. My bet is on the goals this weekend!
