Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o has completed his move from Inter to Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala after passing a medical on Wednesday with an estimated fee of 18.4 million pounds.

Details of striker’s salary have not been confirmed, but according to some reports, he is set to receive around 21 million pounds per season which makes him one of the highest paid sport professionals. For 30-year-old Eto’o who is widely regarded as one of the best forwards in Europe, it appears to be rather unusual to go through with a transfer that would make him to play for the club that trains in Moscow region and travel 1000 km to play home matches at Dagestan republic’s capital. Wages aside, club that doesn’t have a trophy tradition do not looks like a good prospect. Nevertheless, Eto’o claims that money was not his motivation to agree surprising transfer: “It’s really important that the club management believes in me, and I want to trust them back. I hope that my strengths allow the club to achieve their goals. The project is very interesting, money is not so important for me, that’s just part of football. I came from Cameroon to be happy here and make others happy as well.”

Alberto Aquilani has agreed with AC Milan a season-long loan deal from Liverpool with a possibility to a permanent move.

The 27-year-old midfielder joined Liverpool in 2009 when Liverpool cashed 20 million pounds for his transfer from Roma. However, player has never settled at the club as he made only 28 appearances in all competitions. Last season, midfielder spent on loan at Juventus before the off-season signings of Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing made it clear he would probably not feature first team football in Kenny Dalglish’s squad, despite being impressive in pre-season.

The loan deal guarantees his season long stay at Milan and grants option for Massimiliano Allegri’s side to purchase midfielder if he makes at least 25 appearances for the Italian Serie A champions.

Kenny Dalglish has explained why he gave a loan deal a green light: “It’s a great move for Alberto. He’s got his wife and kid over there. It was difficult for him here. When he came back his pre-season training was excellent. We gave him a few games, he did well in those games. But the problem for us was trying to get him in the team. We couldn’t get him in the team. Obviously everybody wants to play and Alberto is moving over to a fantastic football club. He goes there with the best wishes of everyone and we hope it works out for him, because he was never a problem in any way, shape or form.”

Aquilani will replace Andrea Pirlo who joined Juventus.

Chelsea’s defender Alex has indicated he would like to realize his dream to play in Italy and a chance to sign for Juventus would make him able to do that.

Following the arrival of David Luiz in the winter transfer window, the Brazil international has been strongly linked with a move away from Chelsea. Alex remains unlikely to have much more first-team opportunities under new coach Andre Villas-Boas, and the 29-year-old is revising his options before the close of the transfer window. Juventus have been credited with an interest in the defender, and although Alex has suggested he would welcome the chance to play in Italy, he admitted the Serie A giant will have to open their wallet to pen him: “I am aware of Juventus’ interest, but I think they want to sign me on loan and this would not be a real alternative for me or Chelsea. My agent has been contacted by Juventus, I am 29 years old and it would be a great opportunity. I would love to play in Italy and I hope I can realise this dream before I retire. When I talked to my agent, I told him that Juve would be a real opportunity for me. Now, though, it all depends on Juve, who must come to an agreement with Chelsea. It is unlikely the club will accept a loan move.”.

President of Inter Massimo Moratti said that the Dutch playmaker will not be leaving the club.

Wesley Sneijder has been heavily linked with a move to English Premier League. Manchester United and Manchester City were mentioned as the clubs that expressed their interest in 27-year-old midfielder. At one moment Sneijder’s transfer to Old Trafford was done deal as press was speculating. However, labeling Sneijder as ‘untouchable’, Moratti ended those stories about Dutch international, regardless of the situation of Samuel Eto’o who is believed to be on the brink of signing a deal with Russian team Anzhi Makhachkala: “There have never been any kind of talks about Wes. It doesn’t matter whether Eto’o stays put or leaves the club,” Moratti told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Sneijder was untouchable before the situation with Eto’o and he has become even more so now Eto’o could leave. Long story short, Sneijder is going nowhere.”

Discussing over Eto’o possible transfer to Russia, Moratti said he would miss forward: “I will really miss him if everything goes ahead. Not just as a player, but also as a human being. He’s a great guy and a superb player. He has always been an example to follow and is a real professional.”

Cameroon international is expected to undergo medical at Anzhi Makhachkala on Thursday. It is expected that Eto’o complete his transfer by the end of the week.

Manchester United’s midfielder Antonio Valencia has signed a new four-year deal on Monday. Equadorean came to Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad in 2009 from Wigan. Back then, his contract was 16 million pounds worth with a 50 000 pounds weekly wage. 25-year-old played 69 times for the Red Devils and scored 10 times. Last season he has won his first title with United. Valencia said he is convinced he will continue to develop his football skills at Manchester United.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said that Valencia represents important player in his squad with his speed and football skills, but also with his character. During the two years spent at Old Trafford, skillful midfielder didn’t completely show his skills because of a long term injury from which he had a long recovery period.

Manchester United has been linked with signing Wesley Sneijder from Serie A runners-up and Coppa Italia winners Inter. If that happens, Sir Alex Ferguson will have significant and fast midfield line in his team.

Roma’s Mirko Vucinic is close to put a pen on a long-term deal with Juventus after completing the medical in Torino on Monday. The Montenegrin player has arrived in Torino on Sunday and spent the whole morning undergoing the medical check-up. Vucinic spent five years playing for Roma scoring 11 goals on 36 appearances last season.

Palermo’s Javier Pastore is another Serie A player who looks to be on the move. PSG’s general manager Leonardo said that the French club is very close on securing the signature of talented 22-year-old Argentinean.

“Pastore is not officially our player yet”, Leonardo told Gazzetta dello Sport. “And until the end of the negotiations you can never consider discounting anything. The good relationship with Palermo allows us to think positively. I count on being able to present Pastore in the first days of the week.”

Chelsea might have missed out to sign Pastore, but they still have a chance to bring in unsettling Luka Modric from Tottenham Hotspurs. According to Tottenham’s assistant manager Kevin Bond, the club would sell the Croatian for the right price. Chelsea’s bid for 25-year-old Modric has already been rejected twice, but it seems that Spurs would have been tempted by an increased bid. Chelsea also want to keep young striker Daniel Sturridge at the club. 21-year-old striker who spent last season on a loan at Bolton has pledged to remain at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place in the Blues attack under new boss Andre Villas-Boas: “The manager has given me license to express myself. I have never had that before with any manager,” Sturridge told The Independent. “He has given me a lot more freedom than I have ever had and I will enjoy my football a lot more.”

Argentine striker has signed a five-year deal with Premier League side Manchester City. According to reports, City paid a 38 million pound fee to Aguero’s Atletico City.

New Manchester City’s striker has 175 caps for Atletico Madrid and 74 goals scored in their jersey. For his national team, he played 30 matches scoring 13 times.

With signing Aguero, City’s boss Roberto Mancini has now six attackers at his disposal. According to his words, it is a good thing to have so many good attackers in the squad, especially if in the season ahead your team participates in four competitions. This situation is setting higher standards among players to fight for their place in the team and improves odds for getting trophies. However, some of these guys will have to leave the club in order to play constantly. If rumors are true, Craig Bellamy who recently has returned from loan in Cardiff City is close on concluding the similar deal with Celtic. On the other side, Adebayor wishes to official transfer to Real Madrid, but that depends on Real Madrid’s interest in that kind of deal. Problematic homesick part of Manchester City’s attacking line are Argentinean striker, team’s captain and top goal scorer Carlos Tevez who has been linked with Corinthians and Inter and Italian Mario Balotelli who has been linked with a transfer to Serie A champions Milan. What will happen until the 31st August when summer transfer window closes, remains to be seen.

The Dutch midfielder and one of the most prominent players in Inter during the last two season Wesley Sneijder has reportedly declared he prefers not to be involved in transfer to Manchester City, but he wouldn’t mind to seal his future at their city rivals Manchester United.

According to the press, Inter’s playmaker has been linked with a move to English Premier League champions Manchester United. Team from Old Trafford is reportedly set to agree to a 27.5 million euros fee with Inter. Dutch international have stated he would prefer to join United because of their prestige and tradition, which automatically put City’s offer out of consideration. Sneijder’s salary could be a potential problem for the deal beside the fact that Inter want 40 million euros, although they might be willing to sell for 35 million euros. Talks had a bit slowdown, but since new Inter’s head coach Gian Piero Gasperini no longer consider Sneijder indispensable, deal is likely to be reached. Also, if Sneijder makes a move, Inter will most likely make a bid for Manchester City’s want-away Carlos Tevez.

Meanwhile, Juventus is close on sealing the deal with Roma’s skillful striker Mirko Vucinic. According to La Gazetta dello Sport, the deal will be worth around 15 million euros.
