Live UEFA Europa League Draw 2011/2012 – Groups I, J, K, and L
Posted by: | CommentsOn Friday in Monaco was held draw for UEFA Europa League groups for 2011/2012 season. Groups formed are promising the best UEFA Europa League odds so far.
Group I – Atletico Madrid, Sion, Stade Rennes, Udinese
Atletico, Udinese and Rennes are group favorites. Udinese failed to reach Champions League after interesting duel with Arsenal. They look like a good prospect for the advance. Atletico sold a few first team players and they do not look to be strongest favorites. Rennes has shown class against Red Star and they look like a team that can go far in the competition. Bet on Udinese.
Group J – AEK Larnaca, Maccabi Haifa, Schalke 04, Steaua Bucuresti
AEK proved to be a good team worthy of playing in group stages. They defeated Rosenborg and no one will have an easy job against them. Schalke 04 are a group favorites and traditionally unpleasant hosts are Israel and Romanian teams. Bet on Schalke 04.
Group K – Fulham, OB, Twente, Wisla
No doubt that Fulham are group favorites in this company. Despite the fact that all of the rest three teams were playing Champions League qualifications (and failed to qualify), Fulham seems to be the best team among them. Bet on Fulham.
Group L – AEK Athens, Anderlecht, Lokomotiv Moskva, Sturm Graz
This is one more group where teams of equally strength will clash in duels for advancing to the next stage. Bet on Anderlecht.

Live UEFA Europa League Draw 2011/2012 – Groups E, F, G, and H
Posted by: | CommentsOn Friday in Monaco was held draw for UEFA Europa League groups for 2011/2012 season. Groups formed are promising the best UEFA Europa League odds so far.
Group E – Besiktas, Dynamo Kyiv, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Stoke City
Expect exciting football in this group. Stoke and Dynamo could play a significant role this year in UEFA Europa League. Besiktas is always unpleasant opponent, and Maccabi will be tough to beat at their stadium. Bet on Stoke City.
Group F – Athletic Bilbao, PSG, Salzburg, Slovan Bratislava
PSG are the favorites in this group, but Athletic Bilbao will represent strong opponent for firs place. PSG new bosses invested a lot in team for this season and the team from Paris should finally have significant role as in France championship also in UEFA Europa League. Slovan saw Roma out of competition but their quality still remains enigmatic. Bet on PSG.
Group G – AZ, Austria Wien, Malmo, Metalist
This group looks like the weakest in this year UEFA Europa League competition. AZ and Malmo have the best odds for the advancement. Bet on AZ.
Group H – Birmingham City, Club Brugge, Maribor, Sporting Braga
This is potentially interesting group where all teams are equal, on the start at least. Last season finalists Sporting Braga are the team with the best odds to go to the next round and Birmingham although they play a second league football this year in England, are good prospect to advance. However, Club Brugge and Maribor will also have excellent odds. Maribor took out Glasgow Rangers in the last qualifying round. Bet on Sporting Braga.

Live UEFA Europa League Draw 2011/2012 – Groups A, B, C, and D
Posted by: | CommentsOn Friday in Monaco a draws for UEFA Europa League groups for 2011/2012 season was held. Groups formed are promising the best UEFA Europa League odds so far.
Group A – PAOK, Rubin Kazan, Shamrock Rovers, Tottenham Hotspur
In this group Tottenham should be an absolute favorite to advance, but PAOK and Rubin will be worthy opponents. Shamrock Rovers have surprisingly entered group stages after their surprising victory over Serbian champions Partizan who participated in Champions League last season. Bet on Tottenham.
Group B – Hannover 96, Kobenhavn, Standard Liege, Vorskla
Hannover and Standard Liege will probably have the best odds for advancement to the next stage. Kobenhavn could also be involved in fighting for one of the first two places. If we consider their Champions League role last season, it is possible. Bet on Hannover 96.
Group C – Hapoel Tel Aviv, Legia Warszawa, PSV, Rapid Bucuresti
PSV are the slight favorites of this group. Nevertheless, all four teams have good odds to advance in competition. Bet on PSV.
Group D – Lazio, Sporting CP, Vaslui, Zurich
Group favorites are Lazio and Sporting. If any of other two teams go through it would be a sensation. Bet on Lazio.

Porto is one step closer to completing a historic achievement after UEFA Europa League final and 1-0 win over Sporting Braga on Wednesday.
Thanks to Falacao’s precise header one minute before half time, Andre Villas Boas’s team won their second trophy of the season, after winning Liga Sagres title without a single lost game. Falcao’s goal was his 17th in this year’s UEFA Europa League campaign, which is a new record. Now Porto only need to defeat Vitoria Guimaraes in the Taca De Portugal final match on Sunday and they will have secured three trophies this season.
Porto entered the match with 130 goals scored on 52 matches, mainly thanks to Falcao and Hulk. However, they were not able to repeat the scoring patterns in Dublin as they really struggled to break though Braga’s defense. Braga was trying to use some chances from counter attacks, but Porto was more creative and their attacks looked more dangerously and odds for a goal were increasing. Fredy Guarin picked up a poor pass on a halfway before he pushed the ball forward in order to deliver a fantastic cross from the right, which meant a chance for Falcao, the kind of those he doesn’t miss. Falcao placed a superb header in the top right corner of Braga’s goal for 1-0 which as it turned out was the final result. Braga was gifted with a goal chance in their next attack, but Porto’s goalkeeper Helton reacted in style and with his legs saved his goal. Until the end of the match, Braga was not able to make an outstanding goal chance. The match itself was pretty poor to watch, but the only thing that matters to Porto’s fans is that their team has a historic opportunity to win three trophies in a season.

Porto vs Braga 1:0 (1:0)
In UEFA Europa League final match two Portuguese top teams will clash in Dublin Arena. Porto enters the match as favorites to grab the crown. They have a great boost of confidence thanks to their success of winning the complete domestic campaign unbeaten. Andre Villas-Boas has led his team to the Portuguese League and Super Cup this season and surely, he and his squad will want to end European campaign in style. If Porto were victorious over Braga on Wednesday evening, their 33-year-old coach Andre Villas-Boas will become the youngest one to win the UEFA club competition. Varela, Hulk and Falcao should be the attacking force that should bring goals and win for Porto.
Braga, on the other side have been seen as outsiders in this match, but they’ve been outsiders throughout the most of their European season, so it is expected they patiently seek for their chance. Everybody thought some of the Russian teams could be into the final, or some English teams, but it turned out that three teams from Portugal came to the semi’s and two ended up in finals. The only question is who’s going to win. UEFA Europa League odds say Porto are favorites, but Braga will fight to the very end. Bet on Porto.

Premier League News – Dalglish: My work has just begun!
Posted by: | CommentsLiverpool manager Kenny Dalglish got permanent contract with his beloved club Liverpool. On that occasion he pointed out his work has just begun. Scotsman took over the role in the club as a caretaker manager after Roy Hodgeson sacking in January and now, the 60-year-old has received a permanent three-year contract.
Since Dalglish took over, Liverpool have won 10 out of 16 Premier League games, which put them in a good position to secure UEFA Europa League spot and the manager credited the club’s younger players with helping to save the season: “It is always refreshing for a football club to see young players coming through and I think the first team players enjoy seeing the youngsters coming through and training with them. It gives them a lift. We’ve been delighted with the Academy. When I and my backroom team came in we never set any expectations except to do the best we possibly could in every game. I never set any targets, but obviously we had to improve and we have done. We have not finished the season yet, there are still a couple of games to go and the same principles will apply. We have a game on Sunday that we want to get the most we possibly can out of.”
His permanent role will start on Sunday at Anfield against Tottenham, their direct rivals for the 5th Premier League place. Liverpool will be looking for a win in that match so they could cement UEFA Europa League spot. In last match Liverpool trashed Fulham 5-2 with Maxi Rodriguez scoring his second hat-trick in last three games. Premier League odds are on Liverpool’s side here and Dalglish said his players should be recognized for their efforts in the second half of the season: “It would be nice to beat Tottenham. I think that, without saying we are not going to win, if the players do not get credit for what they have done so far – irrespective of what the next two results are going to be – then I think there is something wrong. They have done fantastically well and have probably gone over everybody’s expectations and so deserve huge credit. In the last two games we will be trying our best to get a positive result.”

On Thursday we will find out if two Portuguese teams will be playing in UEFA Europa League final this season.
Villarreal suffered 5-1 defeat at the hands of Porto in the first-leg match. It looks like everything is over for the Spanish side. Young Porto’s coach Andre Villas-Boas is confident that his team will be able to keep the advantage and go for a win in this match. He also pointed out that his team will not give up on their attacking style: “We will play our style of football and our philosophy: 4-3-3 with an attacking outlook, as we have been doing all season. Nothing is impossible and anything can happen in football but I have full confidence in my team. We are physically and mentally prepared for any situation in the game, as shown by our experience against big teams in big stadiums. I hope that if victory is achieved it becomes a victory for the whole country, and pride for all the players who form this team.”
If we look at the UEFA Europa League odds for this match, it is very unlikely that Villarreal stand any chance of reaching the final. However, Brazilian international and Villarreal’s striker Nilmar thinks different. The Yellow Submarine will have to stage a miraculous come back at El Madrigal where they have a 100 percent record in seven UEFA Europa League games this season in which they scored 20 goals and conceding just three. Nilmar said: “It will be very difficult, but we must just focus on scoring one goal at a time, not getting ahead of ourselves. The match is only over when the referee blows his whistle and Porto will not be relaxing. They will come out looking for the victory. We need to be tough when we go out onto the pitch and show the kind of quality football we’ve played the whole season. We are professionals so we know what we are up against but after the last game at home in the Liga [a 2-1 win against Getafe on Sunday] we have faith in ourselves. We must give our all, play 90 minutes of good football and make the most of our chances.”

UEFA Europa League 2011 – Quarter Finals Draw
Posted by: | CommentsIn Nyon was held a UEFA Europa League quarter finals draw on Friday 18th March.
Two Portuguese teams will meet Eastern European teams in UEFA Europa League.
Porto will look for the chance of placing in semi-finals over Russian side’s Spartak Moscow. Portuguese team have already knocked out of competition CSKA Moscow and now they are facing a challenge to beat another team from Russia’s capital.
Braga which surprisingly found themselves in quarter-finals after knocking Liverpool out will face Dynamo Kyiv, which knocked out another top Premier League team, Manchester City out of UEFA Europa League. It will be a challenging game for both teams.
Two ex-European cup winners, Benfica and PSV Eindhoven will clash in UEFA Europe League semis. Two teams had played 1988 European Cup final, which ended as a goalless. After the penalties PSV grabbed the trophy. At the moment both teams are playing well and this one should also be an interesting duel.
At last, Villarreal plays against the Dutch side Twente. Villarreal will be a great favorite in this duel. Perhaps, Spanish team is the first favorite of winning the UEFA Europa League at the moment.

Only one Russian club remained in the competition, while two Dutch teams continue in quarter-finals.
Spartak Moscow took fantastic 4:0 aggregate win over the leading team in Eredivisie Ajax. After 1:0 win in first leg in Amsterdam, Spartak crushed Ajax in Moscow 3:0. Unlike their Russian Premier League rivals, Zenit didn’t have enough luck to secure extra time, but they were very close as they had a half time lead 2:0 against Twente. Unfortunately for Luciano Spaletti’s team, Twente goes to quarter-finals. Zenit and CSKA Moscow were the best teams in the group stages, but now they have early exited.
Another Dutch team, PSV had a tough night against Rangers. In Glasgow they were able to score thanks to Jeremain Lens in 14th minute and seal their place in the best eight teams in UEFA Europa League.
The fourth-placed La Liga team, Villarreal claimed brilliant 5:3 aggregate win over Bayer Leverkusen, the second-placed team in Bundesliga. Villarreal were inspired again and their place in quarter-finals is not a coincidence. They played nice football on Thursday and thanks to goals by Cazorla and Giuseppe Rossi they earned 2:1 victory over Leverkusen and a place in UEFA Europa League quarter-finals.

Benfica’s coach Jorge Jesus is filled with trust in his squad and expresses optimism before the rematch with Braga. He said: “We have won the first match. It was like against PSG and Stuttgart, so this result at home is nothing new for us. We deserved more, at least to end with a two-goal advantage. Braga didn’t create any chances to score. Their goal was from a set-piece situation and they didn’t create many difficulties for us. We go to Braga better than we started the tie. Of course, I believe that I will go to Dublin, the result gives us that faith.”
This should be exciting match, but Benfica is a favorite. Do not expect many goals.
